1}Cover more ground :-
Use groundcover plants on irregular terrain or steep slopes to prevent erosion and runoff. Where water conservation is a priority, choose groundcovers that tolerate dry soils. Groundcovers are a timesaving, low-maintenance alternative.
2}Plant 3 trees :-
Shade your home and your AC condenser unit too. Properly placed deciduous trees (those that lose leaves in winter but block summer sun) can reduce cooling costs while adding curbside appeal. An average US household can save from $100 to $250 in annual energy costs just by properly placing three trees near unit.
3}Leave the mulch :-
Leftover leaves? Use them as mulch to keep soil moist and discourage weeds. In spring, till small leaves into the soil; wait until the soil is dry enough that a ball of it breaks when you drop it, but not so dry that it won't form a ball. Or leave them on the surface. In cool regions, or if spring is rainy, rake them aside to let the soil warm up for a few weeks, then rake them back.
4}Weeds, a headache :-
Sick and tired of weeds but reluctant to add chemicals to the water? Here are some solutions to control weeds.
1)Boiling hot water in particularly effective on weeds in expansion joints on driveways and paths.
2)White vinegar is a good weed killer. It works best when sunny.
3)Treat the problem area with strong saltwater solution regularly. Dont let it spread to other plants.
4)Another good weed killer is lemon juice. It breaks down very quickly.
